Garden Care Plans
Barrow Gardens provides professional, ongoing garden care for established private gardens, delivered consistently on a fortnightly or weekly basis. Rather than working hourly or on an ad-hoc basis, care is structured through clear maintenance plans. Each plan defines the level of oversight we take for your garden, giving clarity, consistency and long-term results. Existing clients remain on their current arrangements unless discussed otherwise. Some clients prefer straightforward, responsive maintenance, others want a more proactive approach, with seasonal guidance and planting decisions handled for them. The plans allow you to choose the level of involvement that suits you.
The difference between plans isn’t the time spent on site — it’s the level of responsibility taken for the care, direction and seasonal management of the garden.
Lawn Cutting
Many of our clients use robotic mowers to maintain a consistent lawn between visits. Where traditional lawn cutting is required, this can be arranged as a separate service and quoted accordingly. Lawn cutting visits are scheduled independently and do not reduce or compromise time allocated to your garden care plan.
Limited Afternoon Work
A small number of afternoon visits are available for local (RG31) gardens where lighter maintenance is appropriate. Availability is limited and offered at my discretion.
Garden Care Approach
My work focuses on traditional, plant-led garden care carried out in line with seasonal best practice. The following services are not undertaken within garden care plans: – Hedge reductions or large-scale hedge cutting – Tree work – Chemical weedkillers and pesticide spraying are not used – Ladder-based or high-access work Maintenance visits focus on hand-based care. Specialist mechanical work may be quoted separately where appropriate
A Note on Planting Work
Regular maintenance covers the care and management of existing planting. Where new planting involves layout decisions or responsibility for a planting scheme, this is treated as a separate project. This may include a planning fee, plant costs and a standard sourcing fee. Small, like-for-like replacements may occasionally be carried out at my discretion.
Starting at a New Garden
Early visits often focus on stabilising and bringing the garden back under control. Visible transformation follows once a clear baseline has been established and regular care is in place.
Availability
I work with a limited number of ongoing clients each season to ensure each garden receives consistent and considered attention over time.
